Step 2: We'll have a short conversation with you to learn more about your background, experience, and answer any questions you might have.

Step 3: If you are accepted, you'll receive information from DDC on logistics, such as travel, visas, and other information to help you prepare.

Is China safe?

In a word, Yes! Cities in China generally have lower rates of crime than the United States, and our teachers remark on how safe they feel. 

Is it hard to get a visa?

DDC will work with you individually to help identify and obtain the appropriate visa for your needs

Is traveling in China difficult?

Many of the concerns you may hear of around traveling in China are a bit over-sensationalized. DDC operates in major cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen - each major metropolitan world cities. While there are definitely cultural differences, our teachers visiting from North America find travel in China very comfortable.

What are the students like?

Admissions to DDC is highly selective, with prospective students undergoing testing for their aptitude and English language skills. All DDC students are gifted and talented, and extremely motivated to learn. They are eager to learn from passionate, expert teachers!

Where will I teach?

DDC programs take place in the best international schools in each city. The schools are state of the art and compete with any US school.

What’s the classroom environment like?

The typical DDC classroom is likely not that different from where you teach in the states. Classrooms are clean, spacious, and include the teaching equipment you'd expect, such as whiteboards and projectors.

Will there be assistance if there are communication problems with students?

In a word: yes! While DDC students have excellent English language skills, assistants are provided in every classroom to help with any communications issues.

How do we get from the airport to the hotel?

As you exit customs, look for the smiling face of a DDC staff member with a sign, waiting to greet you and drive you to your lodging!

What’s the air quality like?

All DDC schools, as well as the lodging for DDC teachers, have top quality air filtration. The air quality for the DDC cities is highly variable and dependent on season and weather patterns. As your trip nears, DDC can provide specific information for your location.

What’s the food like? Is there western food available?

China has an enormous variety of food available - anything you can get in New York City you can get in China! You can be as adventurous and try foods you can't find elsewhere, or you can stick with the comforts of home. Either way, there's something for everyone.
